2023 World Cup: Super Falcons set for trip

…Tinubu to attend farewell dinner

Nigeria’s women national team are scheduled to fly out of the country on Sunday, ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons will spend 15 days in Brisbane, Australia, to continue preparations for the tournament.

Randy Waldrum has already listed 23 players for the competition.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubu is expected to attend the farewell dinner put in place for the team on Saturday.

The farewell dinner will hold at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

Also expected at the dinner are football stakeholders and other important dignitaries.

The Super Falcons will face Canada, Australia and the Republic of Ireland at the World Cup.

Nigeria’s opening match at the World Cup is against Olympic champions Canada, at Melbourne’s Rectangular Stadium, on July 21, before matches against co-hosts Australia and the Republic of Ireland on July 27 and July 31, respectively at the Lang Park in Brisbane.
