Nullify 2023 Senatorial Poll In FCT – Students, CSOs Tell FCT Senate Election Petition Tribunal

•says INEC has driven a nail into the electoral coffin in FCT.

THE leader of FCT Students, Comrade Peter Jesse has called on the judiciary through the judges of the FCT Election Petition Tribunal to be the voice of reason and save democracy from collapsing in the FCT.

Jesse made this call during a one day STUDENTS AND OTHER CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATION SEMINAR organised by National Association of Nigerian Students FCT.

He said, the judge must uphold the integrity of the judiciary and let FCT win as it’s clear that the entire process was manipulated via over voting and other malpractices. As we listen to petitions, the conscience of FCT will be waiting outside the walls of the courtroom with the account it will give posterity in their names.

The Chief judge must ensure that the judges are given the right support and independence to decide on the cases without any kind of interference or inducement. The judges must look beyond technicalities and base their decision on the path that bequeaths the best outcome for the nation’s capital.

We call on the judiciary through the judges of the FCT Senate Election Petition Tribunal to be the voice of reason and save our democracy from collapse here in the FCT by ensure the illegalities in the just concluded FCT Senatorial election doesn’t stand, he said.
