Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps on Sunday midnight arrested a young man, Taiwo Ogunsola, 29 years for cultism activities in the Olomilagbala area, Ilesa, Osun State.
He was arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Ilesa Area Command on the activities of the suspect and other gang members. Amotekun operatives swung into action immediately and burst the residence of the suspect where a Dane gun and Axe were found with him and he was apprehended.
The suspect confessed to being a member of the Eiye confraternity and he has been a member for a long time.
The suspect has been on the wanted list of the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit for a long time.
Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi asserted the suspect was arrested at his residence after a complaint was lodged against him by the residents of the Olomilagbala area Ilesa on his activities with other gang members. Amotekun operatives swung into action immediately and burst his residence and arrested the suspect with a Dane gun and Axe.
“During cross-examination, the suspect confessed to being a member of the Eiye confraternity and he has been a member for a long time”.
“Taiwo has been on the wanted list of the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit for a very long time before luck ran against him”. Adewinmbi said.
The suspect has been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
