The National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, has suspended its five-day warning strike it embarked on to press home members demands.
Dr. Emeka Orji, National President of the association directed all resident doctors to resume work by 8.00am on Monday in all Federal and State Teaching Hospitals, as well as other hospitals where resident doctors are trained.
According to him, the progress made by the association would be reviewed on 2nd June, 2023 during the association’s general meeting where next line of action would be decided.
NARD had embarked on the strike on Wednesday following the failure of the federal government to meet its demands.
The doctors are demanding immediate increment in the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) to the tune of 200% of the current gross salary of doctors.
They also wanted an immediate withdrawal and jettisoning of the “ill-conceived” bill by Honorable Ganiyu Johnson on the “enslavement of young doctors in Nigeria.” CONTINUE READING………………………………………………..
