A teenager identified as Bassey Edet, has been killed after a drunk driver rammed a Toyota Picnic car into a motor park in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the teenager was selling puff-puff and buns at the park before the unfortunate incident happened along the ever-busy Odigbo-Ore road on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
The presence of security agents at the scene calmed the situation in order not to escalate into another scenario.
According to the an eyewitness, said that the yet-to-be-identified driver of the Toyota Picnic with number plate EPE 576DC was allegedly drunk while driving.
The witness said, “The driver drove on top speed and rammed into a garage and killed a teenager, identified as Bassey Edet.”
The driver has been arrested by the police, while the damaged vehicle and motorcycle were towed to Odigbo Police Station.
The remains of the boy have been deposited at the morgue in Ore.
