VOICE AIR MEDIA News Update

THE President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has this evening filed his reply to the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, challenging the result of the just concluded presidential election.

The President -Elect, in his reply settled by a team of lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, queried Mr. Obi’s locus standi to present the petition, as according to him, he himself was not qualified to contest the election, as his name was missing on the Register of members submitted by Labour Party to INEC 30 days before the election.

Tinubu also pointed out that Mr. Obi deliberately misrepresented that a criminal forfeiture order was made by the US District Court, pursuant to 18 USC 982, when in fact, no such order was made or criminal jurisdiction exercised by the court.

“Your Interpretation of Section 134 of the Constitution is disingenuous,” Tinubu tells Obi.

The President-Elect, Senator Bola Tinubu as described as disingenuous, the interpretation suggested for section 134 of the Constitution, in respect of the requirement of 25% of the votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory.

This was contained in the replies filed by his team of lawyers led by Chief Olanipekun, SAN.

Tinubu who had challenged Obi’s qualification to contest the election also objected the votes credited to Obi in 630 Polling Units drawn out from Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Enugu and Imo States for various irregularities.
