One Killed, Others Injured As Truck crushes motorcyclist, cars In Ikirun

One person was confirmed dead in a ghastly motor accident at the Oja Oba market square in Ikirun on Monday.

An eyewitness, Lamidi Adebisi, who is the Akogbona of Ikirun, revealed that a heavy duty Mack tipper laden with granite trying to navigate the Idi-Esu roundabout lost control at the market square.

According to him, no fewer than 15 motorcycles and five cars were crushed as the driver of the truck tried to avoid killing people.

Isiaka Oladipo, the Baale of Ibijuwon area, also added that the truck damaged part of the town hall, before it finally came to a halt at the Akinrun Palace gate.

Personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Police alongside a score of sympathisers were at the scene of the accident to attend to victims.

The corpse of the commercial motorcyclist who died on the scene of the accident was subsequently taken to the hospital.
