The President said this while speaking to journalists after casting his vote at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara A in Daura, Katsina State,

The president, who spoke to newsmen both in English and Hausa languages said his administration had been preaching against vote-buying and monetisation of politics, calling on politicians to desist from such acts.

âIf they (politicians) still give you money, collect, but vote for your preferred candidates,â Buhari maintained.

He again thanked the electorate for trusting the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Feb. 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections where the partyâs candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu, emerged winner.
