It will be recalled that the APC candidates who lost in the elections had approached the Tribunal with petitions to challenge the victory of the PDP candidates, which swept all the three senatorial seats and nine house of representatives seat up for contest in the February 25 election.

According to report, the applications was to preempt any attempt by the APC to tamper with election materials by ensuring the successful candidates legal team monitored their inspections of election materials by the defeated opposition candidates.

The legal said that the successful PDP candidates are prepared to ensure that the mandates given to them by their various constituents are defended and not stolen by the APC which is notorious for usurping mandates.
