THE Osun State Campaign team for VoteNotFight has called on all stakeholders in Political circle about the recent Killings going on across the State.
In a statement signed by the Team Lead of VoteNotFight Campaign team, Jare Tiamiyu, he said the crisis has erupted in some parts in Osun State in the last 72 hours, and it causes for great concern as it puts innocent resintes in danger.
The statement partly reads: “We’re deeply worried by the development that is turning a formerly peaceful State in to battlefield all in the name of State House of Assembly elections”.
“To this end, IICSD is calling on security agencies in the state to put all necessary security measures in place to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons who are behind the recent crisis that has claimed at least, a life”.
The Initiative also called on politicians to remember their words during our engagement with them and to act according to the rules. We also urge them to call their supporters to order as only a peaceful electoral process and peaceful atmosphere will enable the electorates to exercise their franchise without fear.
“We’re also calling the residents of the state to act in good conduct, to only exercise their civic rights and not engage in any form of violence”, he stated.
“we commend the Osun State Police Command under the present CP Elections, Peter Abayomi Oladipo for the arrests recently made. We urge the command to ensure diligent investigation and prosecution of culprits”, he concluded.
