Men of the Benue State police command have arrested an estate agent, Shagbaor Ugosor Japhet, for allegedly killing a lady, Erekaa Dooshimaa, who gave him money to find an apartment for her in Benue State.
Erekaa Dooshimaa, a final-year Benue State University, Makurdi student, went missing before her body was discovered with bloodstains at Brewery Quarters.
The Nation reports that detectives traced her killers after going through her bank account, from which she transferred N150,000 to the suspect.
Unfortunately for Shagbaor, the POS machine Dooshima used to make the transfer to him was tracked.
Shagbaor was arrested and during interrogation he confessed to using the money to stake a bet and that he later called the lady who had paid him for a house and hacked her to death.
“When she arrived at the dark corner of the street where I called her to come I cut her with a machete several times leading to her death. After killing her, I took her body with her iPhone and dumped her body on the street to make it look like someone else killed her”, the publication quoted him as saying.
