Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Friday extolled a former Governor in the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, as a charismatic leader whose approach to service inspires dedication to the people, rejoicing with him as he turns 72 years old today.

Governor Adeleke described the Okuku-born blue blood as an outstanding administrator, noted that Prince Oyinlola’s incredible imprints in public service are indelible and a source of his wide appeal with the people.

The Governor lauded Prince Oyinlola for his enduring impacts in the lives of the people in the military and as a politician, saying the former Governor is a shining example of impactful governance.

“Today is a very special day for us as we celebrate a charismatic leader and an exceptional political figure, His Excellency Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola,” Governor Adeleke noted in a congratulatory message.

“Whether in the military or politics, Prince Oyinlola is full of accomplishments and for that, I considers him as an icon of leadership for his great services to the people over the years.

“As he clocks 72 years today, I join family friends, and the good people of Osun state in celebrating a leader that has touched lives in many ways. Prince Oyinlola is a leader who light the path for a lot of people to follow.”

Governor Adeleke prays to God to grant Prince Oyinlola many more celebrations in good health and happiness to continue to be of service to the people of Osun state and Nigeria as a whole.

Oyinlola, who was ignominiously removed as the National Secretary of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in 2013 joined APC in 2014 in the count down to Osun gubernatorial election of August 9.

He was later made the Chairman of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Board in the late 2017; the appointment many believed was made to pacify him after losing out in the ministerial and ambassadorial appointments. He has also resigned from the same appointment.

He and later dumped APC for PDP in 2018.

Oyinlola served as Osun Governor between May 2003 and November 2010.
