Nine die after container fell on fully-loaded commercial bus in Lagos

A total of eight persons including two children have died after a container fell on a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State.

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu,Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, who confirmed the incident, said that the truck bearing the container lost control while climbing the bridge.

He said that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.

“Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.

“A total of eight fatalities were recovered, comprising four adult males, two adult females, a girl and a boy,” he added.
