It appears the alliance between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) G-5 governors has collapsed as Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has agreed to be in attendance as Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate flags off his 2023 presidential campaign in Oyo State on Thursday.
The G-5 group is led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu.
A former Minister and close associate of Makinde informed our correspondent that after a series of reconciliation talks, Makinde who is the only governor seeking reelection among the G-5 governors has agreed to work with Atiku in order to unite the PDP in Oyo state.
