Friends and family of a young Nigerian man, Yashim Elisha, who was one of the seven Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) officers killed by bandits in Kaduna State, have taken to social media to mourn his tragic demise.
Bandits reportedly ambushed Yashim and six other officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Monday, January 9 at the Kuriga mining site in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The NSCDC Director of Public Relations, Olusola Odumosu, who confirmed the incident in a statement said the officers were attached to the Kaduna State Ministry of Mines and were on official duty at the Kuriga mining site when the incident happened.
