THE National President of Ileogbo Unity Forum (IUF), the central Union of all Ileogbo indigenes at home and in the diaspora, Mr Anthony Akanmu Owolabi, has commiserated with the families of Mrs Omobolanle Raheem, the Lagos-based Lawyer, who was brutally murdered by a police officer in Ajah Lagos recently.
The IUF National President, in a press statement issued by Dr Ayotunde Adedokun at ileogbo, the union’s national publicity Secretary, condemned in strong terms, the callous, barbaric and inexcusable murder of Barrister Omobolanle Raheem by Asp Drambi Vandhi of the Nigerian police force.
Expressing the sadness of the Ileogbo Kingdom over the untimely death of a promising Lawyer, Mr Owolabi called on the judiciary to ensure a speedy trial and conviction of the trigger- happy police officer for shedding the blood of an innocent soul.
The release specially called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the professional Association to which the deceased belonged, to utilise the knowledge of their legal profession in fighting for justice so that the culprit is brought to book.
The late Mrs Omobolanle Raheem who hailed from Kuta, a community in Ayedire Local government, was until her demise, married to prince Gbenga Raheem of Akinmoyero ruling house in Ileogbo, the headquarters of Ayedire Local government area of Osun State.
Mr Akanmu Owolabi prayed for the repose of the soul of Mrs Omobolanle Raheem, as well as asking God to console the extended families she left behind.
