The daily job seekers in Osun state capital, popularly known as “emu mi, emu mi” has voiced out and splited out their discomfort over the high unemployment rate in the city.
Unemployment in Osun has proven to be one of the biggest issues and threats facing the youths and adults. Research has revealed that over one hundred youths are jobless in Osogbo alone, excluding other parts of the state.
In an interview with Mr. Ijebu, one of the scheme tagged “emu mi, emu mi” members explained how he has spent most of his life on the street searching for a job and after life left him with no other choice than to join the scheme, he still finds it difficult to make a livelihood through it, he then implored the government body as a whole to help put an end to this job scarcity, maybe he can also live a life he wants.
Also, in an interview with OLUSOLA IYABO, one of the women found on the busy street of Alekuwodo making a livelihood out of this scheme; she shared her experience of how she had to hold onto her virtues after her business collapsed.
The job seekers, however, robbed hands to the government to provide capital for them to invent their own business so that they can gain financial security.
“At this point, all we ask for is Government intervention in this threat of unemployment that is busily jeopardizing the future of others.”
“As it is known that “We rise by lifting others up”, let’s rewrite our stories with our bare hands by joining hands together with the government to end this financial crisis by creating jobs for the public.”
