COSSY Felicitates Members At Christmas

THE Coalition of Ogun State Students and Youths (COSSY) felicitates with all Christian Youths and Students in Ogun State and across the country on this special celebration of Christmas and urged all to make the fear of God the foundation of their lives.

The Convener, Comrade Oladimeji Uthman congratulates all christian faithfuls for witnessing this year Christmas celebration.

He congratulates and celebrates all members for witnessing the 2022 Christmas festivity as we also profusely appreciate the Lord almighty for keeping us alive to be part of the celebration of this year’s birthday of Jesus Christ.

Christmas as we all know is a day set aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This day especially symbolises the day that the world’s messiah was born with the destiny to give the ultimate sacrifice of his life for the redemption of mankind and to bring love back into the world through his exemplary lifestyle during his time on earth.

Beyond the merry and jamboree that usually occasions this season, we admonish all Christian faithful to use this opportunity as a sober reflection on the measure of love and sacrifice we have given to the world as the lord Jesus Christ modelled. Have you been kind to the poor and needy? Have you been fair and true in your dealings with your fellow man? Have you for the love of others chosen to do the right thing even when its not comfortable? Have you been selfless in your service to humanity? Have you promoted peace and neighbourliness in your relationship with the world around you? Have you lived in obedience to the laws of the land, even when no one is watching? These and many more are the virtues the birth and life of Jesus Christ preaches.

“I encourage all our members home and abroad to use this opportunity to remember the life of Christ and emulate him.

“It is another opportunity to celebrate Jesus Christ and the lessons his life taught humanity; lessons of humility, selflessness, godliness and service. I also charge all our members to be alert and sensitive during the Yuletide, especially with regards to security.

Comrade Oladimeji called for a renewed commitment to the service of humanity in line with the true teaching of Jesus Christ, adding that we must strive at all time for the progress of our society.

Keep a secure and crisis free celebration gatherings. Pay visits and take visitors only as necessity demands. I pray that the grace and blessings of the Lord continue to dwell with us all; he said.

“This season is also another opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the true teachings of Jesus Christ, which has love at its heart. In love, we will have no trouble enduring each others’ differences and live in harmony, which holds the key to prosperity,” he noted in the message.
