Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for 2023, has spoken following his meeting with Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Tinubu confirmed hosting the Vice President at his Abuja residence in a short statement on his Twitter handle on Wednesday night.
Senator Kashim Shettima, the APC candidate’s running mate, was also present.
Tinubu revealed details of their conversation, saying they focused on important national issues.
He wrote:
I, alongside my running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, this evening received Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, @ProfOsinbajo at my Abuja residence. We shared time discussing some important national issues.
It was previously reported that Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, paid a visit to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, on Wednesday.
Osinbajo has not participated in the ruling party’s campaigns since his defeat to Tinubu in the APC presidential primary.
However, the presidency stated that it was President Muhammadu Buhari who directed that Osinbajo and Secretary to the Government Mustapha be excused from campaign activities so that they could focus on governance.
There were reports that Tinubu and the Vice President had a falling out over Osinbajo’s decision to run against him in the presidential primary, but both camps denied the reports on multiple occasions. CONTINUE READING…………………………
