The Vehicle Inspection Unit officials (VIO), also known as the Roads Traffic Services (DRTS) has displayed a nonchalant attitude on duty this afternoon along Sekona road, in a way leading to Ile-Ife, Osun state.
Â
On Monday, 5th of December, 2022, a motorist, Mr. Muftai Adedeji, picked up some passengers at their park in Aregbe, Osogbo in a white 18-seater bus heading to Ile-Ife.
Â
Â
As they embarked on a journey that supposed to take less than an hour, the Vehicle Inspection Unit officials (VIO) extended the duration which resulted to the termination of some passagers appointments.
Â
Â
A VIO officer popularly known as Akile was caught by the passengers taking the bus key without the driver’s permission while one of his colleagues was accepting bribe. This infuriated the driver, who then asserted his right. Unfortunately, the officer didn’t apologize as he also broke the bus’ screen.
Â
Â
The so uncalled for incidence stirred up a reaction from the passagers which made the officers to delay them for a long duration until the intervention of NURTW chairman on call.

Below is the video showing the passagers expressing their grief:
