Breaking: PDP, LP members defect to APC in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has received over 2,000 people from the Bassa ethnic group who declared their support for the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.

The defectors who were members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, pledged their loyalty for the APC at the party’s campaign rally in the LGA on Saturday.

Welcoming the defectors into the APC, Sule said they would be given equal treatment with other members of the party.

He expressed confidence that with the massive turnout at the rally, the people of the area had once again demonstrated their readiness to deliver the APC in the 2023 general election as they had always stood by the party in past elections.

“We are united in the APC. We are seeing others leaving their party to come and join us because of the unity within our party. Any loyal member of the party will not seek to create crisis in the party,” the governor added.

On his part, the Chairman of the State APC campaign council, Senator Abubakar Sodangi, urged the party stakeholders from the area to jettison their differences in order to ensure the success of the party in the 2023 general election.

He said, “All the critical stakeholders have to be united and work together for the success of the party. We are to work together towards delivering the party in Nasarawa local Government Area. I am happy that our women and youths are together with us in the struggle to ensure victory for all candidates of our party, the APC.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa LGA, Muhammed Ottos, commended Governor Sule for his efforts in developing the area and the state at large while assuring of his supporters readiness to massively vote for candidates of the APC in 2023.
