Ruth Kenneth, a 37-year-old pastor, was arrested for allegedly providing kidnappers in Adamawa state with information on members of her congregation.
The mother of seven is said to be a self-described “prayer warrior” who consult for people who are ill and struggling spiritually.
Her chats with kidnappers, who threatened to kidnap one of her patients if he didn’t pay a N10 million ransom, were monitored by the police, who then arrested her.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Adamawa police command’s spokesperson, confirmed the occurrence in a statement and stated that one of her victims visited her prayer house on Numan Road in Yola, the state capital, while suffering from an unidentified illness.
She asserted following a prayer session that it was revealed to her that kidnappers were after him.
