The corpse of a day-old baby boy with a placenta was discovered abandoned on a pile of trash in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.

According to Eyewitnesses, the lifeless infant was dumped in the early hours of Saturday, November 5, 2022, along the Atimbo road, just a few meters from the Atimbo Navy Barrack.

A popular facebook page known as Cross River Watch, reported that four men buried the infant near a gutter in a little grave.

Cross-river watch revealed that the men claimed their bosses from the Ministry of Environment had given them the go-ahead to bury the infant, adding that they have been doing so on several occasions.

In other news related with Cross River State, The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom, has denied being Governor Ben Ayade’s ‘boy’ as the governor allegedly claimed at a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress.

“I am in my 50s and Ayade is in his 50s, from the records in his preferred Age Declaration,” Senator Jarigbe said as he tried to set the records straight in the statement he released.
