Officers of the Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service have intercepted a petrol tanker loaded with bags of foreign rice and Urea fertilser concealed in black polythene along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The Comptroller of Customs, Adamawa/Taraba Area Command, Olaniyi Alajogun who spoke to newsmen said the items worth over N144 million and were seized over a period of two months.
Alajogun said other items seized include 165 kilogram of pangolin scales and 1,000 kilogram of donkey skins wrapped in 10 sacks and PMS worth over N12 million.
He said they were able to achieve this because of the measures put in place to curb smuggling activities along the route. CONTINUE READING………………
