Timothy Adegoke: CJ threatens to handover case to another judge (See why)

The ongoing hearing on the alleged murder case of OAU master student Timothy Adegoke  has been adjourned till the 7th of Nov over the failure of the Nigeria Correctional Service to produce the defendant Prince Rahman Adedoyin in court

At the resumed hearing, the absence of the first defendant Princess Rahman Adedoyin court who is the owner of the Hilton hotel in Ile Ife stalled the further hearing on the alleged murder case while Six other defendants were present.

Counsel to first defendant Olalekan Taiwo informed the court that the Nigeria correctional service was unable to make prince Rahman Adedoyin available in court for the continuation of his cases due to his health condition.

However, Both the defense and prosecuting counsel submitted that the presence of the first defendant is important and it is his constitutional right to be in court when his case is being heard.

They, therefore, pleaded with the trial judge Justice Adepele Ojo for adjournment since the first defendant Prince Rahman Adedoyin nothing available in court.

The presiding Judge Adepele Ojo who frowned at the attitude of Nigeria’s correctional service for not providing first defendant Prince Rahman Adedoyin noted that the delay has greatly brought a setback to the quick dispensation of justice on the matter.

She threatened to either transfer the case to another judge or grant the defendant bail warning the counsel as well as Nigeria correctional service to sit tight

Justice Adepele Ojo initially was ready to deliver 74 pages of the amendment charge sheet to the correctional center to produce a medical report of the first defendant’s adoption of final written addresses & conclusion of the substantive suit.

She later adjourned till the 7th Tuesday & Wednesday 8th of November for further hearing.
