Why I gave 40 Muslims appointment- Ayade

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River said he appointed forty (40) Muslims in his administration to demonstrate an inclusive government.

He stated this while congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of the Eid-el-Maulud, symbolising the anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBH).

His felicitations are contained in a statement issued on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita.

The governor urged the Muslim faithful to be ambassadors of peace, and tranquillity and emulate the great examples and legacies of the Holy Prophet.

Ayade emphasised the need to live in peace and harmony with each other, irrespective of religious, ethnic and tribal differences.

According to him, this was the true essence of celebrating the Prophet’s birth.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Cross River State, I join the Muslim faithful to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBH).

“We remain Committed to a peaceful Nigeria despite our challenges. Please let us continue to be our brother’s keepers which is the focal agenda of this administration.

“It is as a result of my desire to ensure inclusiveness that my administration appointed over 40 Muslim Community members into my Government, including cabinet ranking appointments.”

The governor also encouraged the Ummah and other citizens of Cross River to recommit themselves to national unity and moral rectitude as the way to have a united and peaceful Country. CONTINUE READING…………………
