Gunmen attack mining site, kill policeman in Abuja

Gunmen have killed a policeman and injured another after attacking a mining site in Zuba, an Abuja suburb.

 

The quarry, owned by Chinese nationals, is located between the Zuba Police Division and the FCT College of Education.

 

It was gathered that it was raining when the gunmen arrived at the quarry and started shooting the security men.

 

The hoodlums were said to have attempted to abduct one of the policemen after killing his colleague but that they later abandoned him with gunshot wounds.

 

According to Daily Trust, a source sadi that initially the firm employed the services of vigilantes when it started operation about six months back, but replaced them with policemen following an attack that left some of the vigilantes injured.

 

The FCT Police spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached to comment on the incident as she neither picked her calls nor replied SMS. CONTINUE READING…………..
