Tobi Amusan has won the women’s 100 meters hurdles at this year’s Diamond League in Zurich.
Amusan clinched the trophy on Thursday evening after she got to the finish line in 12.29 seconds to successfully defend her Diamond League title.
Tia Jones of USA came second in 12.40s while Jamaica’s Britany Anderson finished third.
The Nigerian had won the Diamond League trophy last year in 12.42 seconds. She also set an African record.
Amusan has been in fine form in the past years.
In August, she won the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.
A month earlier, at the World Athletic Championship, Amusan broke the hurdles record in the semi-finals in 12.12s.
The 25-year-old also became the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the championship with a spirited display in Eugene, Oregon.
Similarly, at the World Athletics Diamond League in June, the Nigerian defended her African championships title with a 12:57 seconds finish.
Amusan is the first and only Nigerian to be crowned African, Commonwealth, and World champion in the same year.
