The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State says former Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, scuttled efforts to reconcile him with Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The party was reacting to a statement credited to the senator representing Ogun West, Tolu Odebiyi, who said Abiodun refused to accept reconciliation within the ruling party.
But the party said it was actually Amosun who refused to be reconciled despite interventions of the revered Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, as well as close friends and colleagues.
APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Tunde Oladunjoye, in a statement yesterday, said Odebiyi’s submission was “a product of frustration”.
He said, “Our party challenges the senator to tell the public where any reconciliatory meeting was called; when and who convened the meeting and who attended.”
The Chairman of Amosun’s faction of APC in the state, Derin Adebiyi, said, “I have not heard or read about what you are talking about (the statement). So, I cannot comment about it. Until I see it and digest it, I cannot comment.” CONTINUE READING…………
