Osun Poll: Free beans cake ‘Akara’ Distributed At Ex-governor Aregbesola’s Home

THE Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has yet to arrive at his polling unit hours after voting has commenced in the Osun State Governorship election.

Residents also said they have yet to sight Aregbesola, whom they said usually arrived in his hometown on election eve.

While the voters expect Aregbesola, akara (beans cake) is being shared at the entrance of his home.

The former Osun State governor usually votes in Ilesa East, Ward 8, Polling Unit 1.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, 15 political parties are participating in the election with 1,955,657 registered voters.

INEC also said the election would take place in 332 registration areas across the 30 Local Government Areas of the state.

Though 15 political parties would be participating in the election, the top contenders are the candidate of All Progressives Congress, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke.
