The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Biodun Oyebanji has been declared a winner at the polling unit of Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi in the Saturday election.
This is coming a few hours after Biodun Oyebanji expressed confidence about winning the keenly contested election.
Fayemi voted at Polling Unit 009 in front of Apata’s house, Ogilolo in Isan/Ilafon/Ilemso area of Oye Local government area.
The APC candidate, Oyebanji scored 154, while the SDP and PDP candidates scored 3 and 4 votes respectively.
VAM News earlier reported that Oyebanji who was accompanied by his wife, Olayemi Oyebanji to the unit, praised the Independent National Electoral Commission, for improving the electoral process through the Bimodal Voter Authentication System technology innovation, saying this had made the process faster and credible.
Oyebanji praised the voters for turning out in large numbers to vote, claiming there was no evidence of apathy based on reports he had received across the 177 wards.
He said: This is an improvement and I expect that I will win. I am happy that there was no case of apathy. The security build-up has also been impressive, so the process has been good and fine.
