…As Oyebanji thanks Ekiti teachers for honouring his parents
The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has described the early morning rally organised for him by Ekiti teachers as a great honour in memory of his late mother and endorsement of his candidature.
Speaking at the rally, BAO re-affirmed his earlier promise that civil servants will not suffer under his administration.
He said his background as son of teachers was enough to humble him and shape his worldview about civil servants’ welfare.
“I have said in many fora where I had opportunity to engage teachers that I’m their candidate and will not disappoint them. I’m reaffirming it today that teachers welfare will be given priority under my administration,”
Chairman, SUPEB, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, who welcomed Oyebanji to the event described him as a governorship candidate who knew where the shoe pinches.
“This is not the first time of meeting our incoming governor but today’s rally is specially organised to reassure him that the support of Ekiti teachers stands. He is our own because he started as a teacher, his parents were teachers and his wife is a teacher too. Above all, he is an homegrown politician that know what we want and our challenges. On Saturday, we should all go out and give him our support,” Akinwumi said.
