Hon. Mere Williams, a Pan Niger Delta born youth leader, ex-agitator, and former councilor who represented Ward 18 Ughelli South in the past Local Government Administration, has applauded the policies of the Presidential Amnesty Interim Administrator Col. Milland Dikio’s agenda.
Mere, who commended the Amnesty Boss’ policies urged President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the appointment of Col. Milland Dikio at a stakeholders conference of ex-agitators held at Jabin Olori Motel Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government head quarters in Delta State.
“Dikio’s TEM (Train, Mentor, and Employ) agenda and leadership style cannot be oversighted. With Dikio’s leadership style, no ex-agitator is willing to return to the creek”, said Hon Mere.
He added that after mentorship and training, all ex-agitators are willing to live a meaningful life.
Mere went on to say that Dikio is not one of those administrators that enjoys taking vacations and neglecting their responsibilities.
“Dikio has committed all of his attention to ex-agitators, calculating how to provide ex-militants with a worthwhile life in society.”
During the meeting, Mere, who had taken a swipe at his colleagues, admonished them to assist Dikio in order for the Amnesty Boss to achieve the program’s desired outcome. He said Dikio is totally on track with the reintegration exercise, which is an important aspect of the program.
He explained that the program has three phases: disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration, each of which is a component aspect of the program.
The ex-agitator, Honourable Mere also commended the Amnesty Boss for the recent deployment of ex-agitators to various training centers as part of the reintegration effort. This, according to Mere, has only added to the ex-Agitators’ needs and longings.
“Dikio has devised the most effective reinterpretation format, TEM, which stands for Train, Mentor, and Employ. I’m urging all ex-agitators and stakeholders to back Dikio’s administration, since having someone like Dikio in charge is an unique privilege”, Mere concluded.
