MOVIE REVIEW: Spitfire Over Berlin [2022]

Plot: August 1944. With the American Eighth Air Force poised to strike over Nazi Germany, British Intelligence learns that they could be flying into a deadly trap. With only hours to spare, Flight Lieutenant Edward Barnes must fly a life and death mission over Berlin in his unarmed spitfire to obtain photographic evidence and save the life of 1200 men

Review From Fans: Filmed during a global pandemic, and with minimal crew, Spitfire Over Berlin, rewrites the rule book, producing a high-quality feature-length movie on an ultra-low budget. Despite the majority of the film being based around a solitary photo reconnaissance spitfire pilot during WWII, it somehow doesn’t feel claustrophobic, thanks to some beautiful countryside flyby scenes overlaid with a soundtrack reminiscent of any classic war movie, onehirst said

Julian Commented “I understand that this film was made on a low budget, so you can’t expect a full Hollywood production. Let’s face it. People are already pointing out faults with the Top Gun movie which had a mega-budget. So-called Spitfire ‘experts’ should not expect a technical review about what Mk of aircraft is being depicted in the film and how many rivers are missing, just go with the story of the person carrying out the mission.

The film tells a story about one of the unsung heroes from WW2 and the lonely, vulnerable and dangerous role carried out, which no doubt on occasions saved many Allies’ lives. Julian guiver added

Review: The acting is not bad, and the storyline is kinda predictable and not very deep, but that’s okay for war movies like Julian said it’s a low-budget movie and we can’t always expect perfection even top budgets movies do receive criticism.
