Former Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara has been caught in the net of the EFCC’s probe into the N80 billion haul by suspended Accountant-General, Ahmed Idris.
The former governor, who forfeited some assets to the ICPC, another bribery agency, has been arrested by the EFCC as the Idris investigation deepens.
Yari was arrested at his home in Abuja on Sunday.
The arrest comes days after he unopposedly won the ruling APC’s ticket to next year’s Zamfara West Senate election.
The AGF was arrested on May 16 on N80 billion corruption charges.
According to the sources, suspicious transactions between Mr Idris and Mr Yari were “in the range of 20 billion naira”.
The report has not been officially confirmed by EFCC. CONTINUE READING…
