Osun 2022: Supporters, Journalists Escaped Death, Others Injured As Hoodlums Attack Vehicles During Campaign

Many supporters and journalists were injured when suspected political thugs attacked the campaign train of Osun state candidate of All Progressives Congress(APC), Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The hoodlum laid ambushed along Arapajo area of Gbongan, the headquarters of Ayedaade Local Government, incident which occurred at 5:45pm on Monday evening, area close to the venue where APC was holding a campaign rally.

After the campaign programme, the thugs attacked the campaign vehicles of Oyetola’s supporters, including many of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, correspondent chapel.

The hoodlums were armed with axes, pots, stones and sticks, and about ten cars were smashed.

The supporters and reporters’ bus were hit, as the sidewalls of the car were smashed and the glass were smashed into the body of everyone in the bus, as some people sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Oyetola promised the mammoth crowd who thronged the rally that he will consolidate on his achievements in the past three and half years in power if he is voted in as Governor for the second term on July 16, 2022.
