Ekiti 2022: Ex-governor Segun Oni Speaks on June 18 poll

The former governor of Ekiti state who’s now a governorship candidate, under Social Democratic party,(SDP), Asiwaju Oluwasegun Oni in a question and answer session live on Television on Tuesday 10th of may 2022, stated that if he didn’t perform well when he was elected governor, he would have been forgotten.

He said during his tenure that he brought digital experience in the senior secondary schools and he gave out laptops to boarding students so they can build relationship with their works

Over four hundred kilometers roads were completed,and I brought autonomy to the local government which I made sure development was brought to the grassroots.

Reacting to the question asked by a news correspondent that what is his take on the national politics for the presidential race

“I am amused by what is happening, I don’t know where it all went wrong, is it that the standard for contesting for the office of president has been brought low so anyhow people could now compete”, said Segun Oni

As of now there’s no materials for technological ecosystem, I will have to make research so as to build a plan to resolve that.

Segun Oni who was the former governor of Ekiti state from May 29, 2007 to October 14, 2010 left PDP party to join Social democratic Party (SDP) in February to contest for June 18 poll.

When asked on how the SDP will win without a known structure less than four months to the election, the former governor maintained that the will and aspirations of the people is the most important structure needed to defeat the APC and PDP in the state. CONTINUE READING…
