NANCES Applauses Yobe commissioner for Basic & Secondary education, Sues for more deployment of NCE holders in schools

The national president of the national association of nigerian colleges of education students (NANCES), COMR. AMINU HABIBU has applauded the Yobe state government, stating the need to deploy quality teachers in to the model school in the state.

The national association of Nigerian colleges of education students (NANCES) it’s umbrella body for students studying in over 219 Federal, state and private colleges of education in Nigeria as accredited by the national commission for colleges of education (NCCE).

NANCES as a body is saddle with the responsibility of fulfilling the Mandate and upgrading teachers education thereby responding promptly on any matter that would harness and improve the welfare of the Nigerian trained teachers, that is teachers with Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), the body also has the mandate of appreciating and reinforcing stakeholders in education who believes in the quality of teachers refined and produce by our colleges for consumption in our various primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.

“Yobe state is one of the state located and situated in the North Eastern part of Nigeria as such is among the state battling to restore the glory of education in the state after the catastrophic attacks of Boko-haram insurgent, the state government under the led Mai Mala Buni administration has enforce the stage of emergency on education to ensure speedy revitalization of the education sector in the state.

“For the policy to see the lights of the day the state government construct some huge model schools across the nucks and crannies of the state that would curve with the challenges of teaching and learning in the 21century, the model school were also established to enhance productivity among teenage population in the state and redirect their minds towards the concept of information and communication technology (ICT) and globalization.

“Couple with the determination of the Hon. commissioner for Basic and secondary Education to succeed and place the yobe state education sector in an admirable position, he has successfully made a series commendable attempt that catches the attention of the National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Students (NANCES).

“We recon and identify with the commission thereby passing a vote of confidence in his elegant style, dynamic and pragmatic approached in taking our educational sector out of the woods.

“Reference to our statement, below are some but few of the outstanding approach embark by the Hon. commission since his assumption to the throne of commissionership.
Despite the intermittent attacks and Covid-19 pandemic, outbreak and others challenges Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss worked around the clock and think outside the box, in order to focus on the motivation and encouragement of the teachers and students in order to pass out West African Certification Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination council (NECO) in flying colours.

“The commissioner embark on rigorous assessment tour to our Government Secondary Schools on which he visits Kanamma and Bukarti in Yunusari and Jakusco Local Government areas,where he charged the school authorities to intensify their efforts and strictly adhere to the safety and precautionary measures against Covid-19, he stresses the need to improve the quality of the students’ meal, supply of potable water and electricity.

“The Hon. Commissioner appoint the overseas and assigned them with the responsibilities to oversee the schools compliance to the Covid-19 guidelines into three senatorial districts as thus: Mallam Shu’aibu Musa – Yobe East Senatorial District; Mallam Shu’aibu Bulama – Yobe South Senatorial District; Mallam Munkaila Muh’d Tanko – Yobe North Senatorial District.
In his passion for human capital development and societal moral service the commissioner personally made a donation of a huge sum amount of money to renovate the school’s mosque in Yusufari Higher Islamic school after a brief meeting with the management of the school.

“The above are some but few among the transformational attempts by Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss in a nutshell which has set the tone for further development to take place, based on effort of the workaholic governor His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, which will serve as a guide for others to follow in sacrifice and dedicated service to their state.

“Base on that, the national leadership of the national association of Nigerian colleges of education students (NANCES). is confidantly throwing it weighs behind the scholarly commissioner for basic and secondary education Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss for taking a holistic approach that change the narrative of Yobe ranking 36 out of 36 states that sit for WAEC and NECO exams.

“To compliment the effort behind the establishment of the model school in the state, NANCES is calling the commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education and all the relevant stakeholders in our educational sector to see the need of employing and deploying quality, qualify and professionally trained teachers, teachers with Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE)in those model schools, AS THERE IS ALWAYS A CLEAR AND A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE QUALITY OF TEACHERS THAT POSSESSED N.C.E AND THE TEACHERS HAVING DEGREE DIRECTLY.
As such emphasis and priority should be giving to the teachers that would enable our children and the state government to appreciate the motives behind the establishment of model school. As we all know that”WE CAN’T GET YOBE EDUCATION SECTOR RIGHT WITHOUT QUALITY TEACHER IN THE CLASSROOM”.

“Finally the national leadership of NANCES want to recon and commend the APC and Buni led administration for coming up with palatable experience and difference approach in taking the state to the NEXT LEVEL and to a new heights.

“NANCES under the watch of Comr. Aminu Habibu buy and allegiantly endorse the policy and program of revitalization while positively key in support of emergency in our educational system. As we all believe that with H.E Hon. Mai Mala Buni in the fray the leadership ante is up in sahelian state”, the statement reads.
