After NYSC, 20,000 graduates would be paid internships – Osinbajo

According to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, 20,000 graduates would receive paid internships as a result of their participation in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The Vice President went on to say that the federal government will continue to deepen business reforms and work with businesses to ensure healthy national development.

On Monday, Osinbajo addressed at the inauguration of the Toyota Service and Research Facility in Lagos.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to work with businesses since they are “more positioned and resourced to lead the economy’s development.”

The Buhari administration, according to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), remains dedicated to the changes spearheaded by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

President Obama’s directives, approvals, and executive orders for infrastructure, power, roads, rail, and broadband connectivity were lauded by Osinabo.

According to the Vice President, the National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025 is government-private sector cooperation with an N348 trillion investment commitment.

“The private sector is estimated to invest N298 trillion, or around 86 percent of the total projected investments,” says the report. This basically implies that the government must establish the best possible environment in Nigeria for private enterprise.”

He also mentioned other government initiatives, such as the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) Investing in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-Dice) program, which is worth over $600 million, and the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Program (NJFP).

The i-Dice program will provide funding, training, and infrastructure to young entrepreneurs in the tech and creative industries.

“Under the NJFP, 20,000 graduates will be awarded fully-paid 12-month internships in respected private and public sector organizations across the country following their youth service,” Osinbajo stated. CONTINUE READING…
