The first evacuation flight of Nigerians, stranded as a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine, has arrived in Abuja.
The MaxAirLtd Flight VM602 evacuated Nigerians from Bucharest, Romania and landed in Abuja at about 7:10 AM on Friday.
Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) announced the arrival of the flight on its Twitter handle.
The passengers, numbering 416 from Romania, landed at the private jet terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 7:10 am (WAT) on Friday.

They are mostly students who fled Ukraine into Romania following Russia’s invasion of the Eastern European country.
“To God be the glory Max Air Evacuation flight VM602 from Bucharest touched down in Abuja”, tweeted Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of NIDCOM.
