Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday gave the overall best graduating student of the Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, Sarah Olanipekun, N1 million and automatic employment.
Abiodun announced this at the third combined convocation programme and 16th anniversary of the state-owned polytechnic.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, also announced that all tertiary institutions in the state will soon start enjoying 24 hours internet services.
While commending the institution’s management for sustaining the standard of education and improvement of infrastructure, the governor reiterated his commitment to educational development.
The overall best graduating student, who studied Mass Communication, scored 3.91.
She was announced by the institution’s acting Registrar, Sunday Idowu.
The Rector, Jumoke Bilesanmi-Awoderu, in her remarks said she has been able to transform the polytechnic since 2014 when she assumed office.
