Truck sends motorcyclist to early grave in Osun

A motorcyclist has lost his life while two others escaped unhurt in a fatal road traffic accident, which occured along the Gbongan-Ife expressway in Osun on Friday evening.

The road crash, which occurred at Saint Paul Grammar School area, Gbongan, involved a red IVECO Eurostar truck with registration number MKA09ZE and a blue-coloured Jincheng AX100 M/C ‘PRIV’ with registration number GBN658QF.

According to information made available by Agnes Ogungbemi, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Osun Sector Command, the multiple crash occurred as a result of wrongful overtaking on the part of the deceased motorcyclist.

Ogungbemi disclosed that the relatives of the deceased on learning about the fatal accident, had come forward to claim his corpse.

She also stated that the men of the Nigeria Police had taken possession of the vehicles involved in the accident.

The Osun FRSC spokesperson also called upon road users to always adhere to traffic rules while making use of the road.
