Public Schools to operate only 4-day Working week in Kaduna

Kaduna govt orders public schools to migrate to 4 days working week
Kaduna State Government has ordered all public schools in the State to migrate to its 4-day working week.

The State Commisioner for Education, Halima Lawa, in a statement on Monday, said the governnent would adjust the 2021/2022 academic calendar to ensure coverage of the curriculum for the academic session.

The statement also reminded the parents to keep to Monday January 10, 2022, resumption date.

According to her, the Ministry of Education expected all principals and head teachers to receive boarding students on Sunday, 9th of January, 2022, and day students on Monday, January 10, 2022, respectively.

She advised parents and guardians to always comply with public health guidelines by adopting all protective measure against COVID-19.

“Administrators and proprietors of public and private schools and other learning centres, including Islamiyya and Madrasas, are encouraged to sustain school-based security committees set up last term and to continue ensuring safety of students in schools,” she said.

She urged members of the school security committee to ensure proper monitoring of security apparatus and prompt reporting of any security threat in their schools.
