Supreme Council for Shari’ah: Oyetola hails Sheikh Hadiyatullah on his new appointment

Osun Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has congratulated Sheikh AbdurRashid Hadiyatullah on his appointment as the President, Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria, SCSN.

His appointment follows the demise of Dr Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, the Council’s former President.

Following the announcement on Monday, Oyetola in a statement signed and released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan in Osogbo on Tuesday, noted that the appointment of Sheikh Hadiyatullah, was a product of commitment and dedication to Islam and his sterling record of service to humanity.

He expressed his belief that under the new leadership of Sheikh AbdurRashid Hadiyatullah, the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria, would be taken to greater levels of responsiveness in the discharge of its constitutional duties.

He noted that the people and Government of the State of Osun were very proud of the appointment of the Iwo born new SCSN President, and optimistic that he would succeed and take the Council to greater heights.

Oyetola wished Sheikh Hadiyatullah a successful stay in his new office.

The Statement reads in part: “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Osun, I congratulate you on your appointment as the President, Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria, SCSN. This is a well deserved appointment and I am confident you will justify the confidence reposed in you.

“As a highly detribalised Nigerian and a friend of all, I charge you to continue in that fashion and consolidate on the tremendous gains recorded by the late Council’s President.

“Osun appreciates you for your service and I urge you to continue to be a great ambassador of the State in this new position.

“It is my prayer that Allah grants you divine wisdom, protection and guidance in the discharge of your responsibility as you steer the ship of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria”, Oyetola added.
