Osun Poly Suspends Students’ Union Government

The Students’ Union Government, has been suspended by the Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

The suspension came up as a result of violence that characterized the unsuccessful SUG election held on November 24 which led to pocket of violence.

According to an internal memorandum released by the school Top Management Committee on Tuesday signed by B.M.Salawu approved the setup of caretaker Committee which will be saddled with the responsibility of students affairs until suspension on SUG is called off.

The memo reads “At its meeting of Tuesday, 21st December, 2021, the Top Management Committee considered the report of the 2021/2022 Students’ Union Election conducted on Wednesday, 24th November, 2021 and noted that the election was characterized with violence, anomalies and several reports including that of the ISEC Chairman, Temiye Oluwatobi Aanu declared it incredible.

“Based on the above, it was approved that a caretaker Committee would be inaugurated to manage the affairs of Student Union Government in the mean time.”
