Ekiti 2022: Eleka appoints ex-governor Fayose’s kinsman as campaign DG

Ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, the former deputy governor of the state, Professor Kolapo Olusola, fondly called Eleka has appointed the immediate past state Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tope Adejorin as Director-General of his Campaign Organisation.

Eleka, 2018 PDP governorship candidate announced in Ikere Ekiti on Thursday, said Adejorin and all coordinators across the state will be unveiled in the shortest time.

In a statement released by his media aide, Adebisi Adeola said the appointment of Honorable Anjorin was a sequel to his grassroots connection and commitment to the ethos of the party.

The former deputy governor said the approach of appointing the coordinators is a bit different from other aspirants since they
Joined the race.

Eleka said he will run inclusive campaigns that will embrace willing party members who believe in his principle and programme to restructure PDP.

“You must have seen that our approach is a bit different from others since we started the race.

“Our strategies to win the coming primary election are intact.

“As we continue with our consultations and goodwill messages to the stakeholders and members of our great party, we hope to run inclusive campaigns that will embrace willing party members who believe in our principle and programme to restructure PDP and prioritise the welfare of its members”

Adejorin hails from Afao Ekiti, the same hometown as the former governor Ayo Fayose.

Adejorin Director-General party Secretary in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government of the state. He is also government PDP chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun local government,

Adejorin was appointed as Acting State Secretary PDP between 2015 – May 2016 before being elected as State Secretary of PDP between May 2016 and May 2020.

Apart from Eleka, those leaders who attended the meeting where the appointment was announced include the Ikere Local Government Party Chairman, Sunday Asebiom government State Legal Adviser, Barrister Sunday Olowolafe; Ikere LG PDP Secretary, Ayodele Adeyeye; Ilejemeje LG PDP Youth Leader, Martins Ayo; former Ekiti Central Senatorial Chairman; Hon Olaiya Tunde, Ise Orun LG Auditor; Agboola Isaiah, Ise Orun LG Treasurer; Tayo Ayodele.

Others include Professor Popoola, Prince Ademola Adebayo from Ikere LG, Hon Olowo from Ekiti South West LG, Hon Abegunde from Emure LG, Pas Adeleke from Ido/Osi LG and others.
