Honourable Ochuko Jude Adjekpovu, the councillor representing Ward 5 in the Ethiope East Legislative Arm, has died after being shot by gunmen.
The councillor from the Ethiope-East Local Government Council of Delta State lost his life a week after he was shot by gunmen suspected to be the Fulani herdsmen insurgents.
He was shot along the Eku/Abraka road in the same local government area.
According to reports, Hon Adjekpovu died in a hospital located in Warri on Thursday morning, December 16, 2021, where he was admitted and was receiving medical treatment.
The Council led by Hon. Victor Ofobrukueta was in mourning when the news of the incident spread out in the early hours of today.
The deceased was allegedly shot by gunmen on his way back from a function.
It can be recalled that a member of the Kaduna House of Assembly, Rilwanu Gadagau was also shot dead by gunmen suspected to be bandits along the Kaduna-Zaria Highway.
Gadagau, who before his death was representing Giwa Constituency of Kaduna was reportedly shot dead on Monday night, December 13, 2021, by bandits during the attack on travellers along the road.
The body of the lawmaker was discovered on Wednesday morning near Mawai, a village about 13 kilometres from the Kaduna State capital.
