Osun Cultist Set Ablaze After Gun, Machete Failed To Penetrate Him

A middle-aged suspected cultist identified as Victor has been set ablaze by rival cultists after bullets and machete failed to harm him.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around Akede area of Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

A resident told journalists that Victor was chased to the area and was shot repeatedly but the bullet did not penetrate.

“He was hacked by rivalry cult members but the machete did not have any effect on his body.

“The cultists poured petrol on him and set him ablaze.

“Some of us rushed at him to extinguish the fire but he was greatly burnt.

“He was taken to hospital and the police were aware. He did not die but severely burnt.”

The spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident on Sunday.

“The perpetrators will be arrested as our men have commenced investigation into the matter,” the Superintendent of Police said.
