The Owelle of Nsukwa, Chief Michael Olamiwe, has reportedly been kidnapped by some hoodlums in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Olamiwe was said to have been kidnapped on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, while returning to Ogidi-Nsukwa after a meeting at the palace of the Obi of Nsukwa.
According to PUNCH, a community source said that the victim’s car was shot several times before he was taken into the bush.
He said, “The man they kidnapped is the Owelle of Nsukwa and they carried him when he was returning to Ogidi-Nsukwa after a meeting at the palace.
“The Nsukwa vigilantes have been combing the bush in search of him for five days, but yet to rescue him.
“Surprisingly, his beads and shoes were seen at Orewa farms, another enclave close to Nsukwa community on Friday. Till date, no contact has been established with the kidnappers.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said the command could not tell if it was a kidnap case.
