The authorities of the University of Ilorin has banned some vehicles on the campus with effect from Monday, 13th December, 2021.
The ban is coming days after the fatal auto crash which occurred last Monday on the main campus, claiming the lives of five persons, including students and staff of the institution.
Four of the victims died on the spot.
A terse message by the management of the institution on Saturday, listed the banned vehicles to include “Tinted Vehicles, Unregistered Vehicles and Learner Drivers.”
It said such vehicles would no longer be allowed on the campus of the University of Ilorin.
The management warned that violation of the policy will attract penalties as such vehicles will be impounded and the offenders prosecuted.
The institution said “it is part of the measures put in place by management to ensure safety of lives of students and staff on the campus.”
